mike Harrison Guitar

Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter

all have a deep understanding of beautifully complex harmonies

and the ability to bring that to all the music they play.

I have listened to and studied Jazz for some 35 years to hear, play and understand this music called Jazz.

Staying true to the tradition I try to bring a modern harmonic approach to all the music I play on the guitar. I draw inspiration and knowledge from all of the many musicians that I have met though my years of playing.

A few years back I started recording and transcribing my versions of

“Jazz Standards” and Realbook songs and realized that I was on to something and that I not only had the material to write a book but enough for volumes of study. So I am now in the process of completing it.

So the student becomes the teacher and the teacher becomes the student as I am learning more about my approach to music and the guitar.

My goal is to publish these volumes of music and teach it to anyone that

finds it interesting.
